Many of us have read, heard, and seen a rising tide of leaders in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons: for misleading regulators and investors; for cutting corners; and for failing to detect, correct, or prevent unethical or illegal conduct in their organization! If it seems like more leaders are getting cast aside amid ethical missteps or corporate scandals, they are. In the last decade, there has been a growing trend of high-profile CEO’s, executives, business leaders, politicians, and celebrities who have found themselves embroiled in what can be characterized as ethical lapses in leadership (see United Airlines, Boeing, Fox News, Uber, Wells Fargo, Yahoo!, Caterpillar, Hyundai, HP, Enron etc.). But there’s good news for leaders and their teams. Leaders can protect themselves by making sure that they send and reinforce clear, well-understood messages about the importance of character, values, and ethical conduct over a traditionally viewed command and controlled skillset. 

This presentation/workshop will give you 8 building blocks which will disrupt every concept of leadership you’ve ever known. This session is about investigating the current leadership paradigm and the challenges that come with being a leader in the 21st century. We will break down the traditional leadership model to reveal a radically new framework of leadership that is applicable to any role in any organization. The concept of leadership will be deconstructed, reconstructed, and reorganized to ensure impactful leadership. You will cultivate a sense of self-awareness through identifying a leadership vision, character, principles, and values; come face-to-face with your own and others’ intrinsic and extrinsic motivations as leaders; and gain a greater understanding of your own personal identity and how your identity shapes your leadership style. The ultimate objective of this session is to learn what good leadership looks like based upon “who leaders are” rather than “what leaders do”.
